Mix and muesli

We are all bored of eating the same thing every day. But sometimes when it is healthy some don’t have an option but to grab and go those muesli packs with a cup of milk and stay fed. I am not a daily muesli person, in fact, I hate those plain mueslis. I would eat it if it had a load of nuts and dried fruits. When I came across the mix and muesli concept I really liked it because I can mix my own combination and enjoy muesli.

I was told to choose one and I opted for the premix as it mentioned having mixed berries, dried apple, pecan, almonds, raisins and chia seeds. On top of all the entire ingredients are totally Organic. Isn’t that nice? Yes, it sure is a good healthy “Energy booster”. That’s what my mix is called.

I did a 2-day muesli of which day 1 was muesli with milk and day 2 was muesli with yogurt. Don’t frown. It was delicious. Try it and let me know.

Check my Instagram and watch my muesli days for inspiration.soon il try it with orange juice 🙂

They use there own homemade sauces as marinade for there chicken and if you need more flavour just feel free to add some from the bottles.

This Strawberry and orange shake or juice ir whatever they call it was super good. I have been wanting to try this style for a long time and here i go. If you dont like ice please ask for without ice.

Thats there flavours 🙂 nice ambience

The chicken was done perfectly and it was spicy for my sri lankan taste bud. We usually have grilled chicken from those shawarma shops on weekends and they lack spiciness. This was a good flavour. I enjoyed eating. Not to forget the fries. Its a good portion for the unhealthy to complete the fries but then again you can choose your sides i chose fries because i like fries.

Beef escalada doesn’t it look beautiful. I want one of those stands 😦 the beef again was well done and good. Flavour was lemon and spicy. The mushrooms and fries were super good. It was sweet potato fries and my son enjoyed it. So its a sharing platter for mum and son.

I was full but there is nothing as no toom for dessert. So i had to dig in and enjoy. I thought it was chocolate lava but it was a sticky date pudding with hot sauce and ice cream. My son was seated there spooning the ice cream while i enjoyed the cake. Now i found a way to keep him entertained when i travel. Get a tub of ice cream 🙂 i dont give him ice cream.

Galitos is a newly opened restaurant at bay square. They are soon to open a branch in DIFC. I would recommend it to anyone because of the taste of the chicken. That was my exploring of a new restaurant.

Disclaimer: I was invited as a guest and went in on a random day to do a taste testing.

3 Restaurants in Colombo

Galadari Shehrazad Restaurant

I’ve been to this restaurant a few many times but this was the first time i visited as a food blogger. Earlier i went to enjoy the food but now i went to blog about it Of course it was a dinner by invitation from a family member.
I couldn’t take much photos but still managed to get my plates. There salad table was super awesome and attractive. They had a soup section, a shawarma stand and a dessert section with the main course.
The seafood pasta and the morocxon lamb was a hit on my plate. They tasted delicious and it’s a must try when ypu visit.

Eastern Wok

Ever since i herd it’s food was of good quality I’ve been wanting to go but time didnt permit with loads of visiting to do after the wedding and some resting. I was craving for chinese and badly wanted to go for one before leaving sri lanka.

Suddenly a relative called up and invited for dinner and when they mentioned Eastern Wok was the location i was so happy and looked forward to visit.  I’ve been to sizzles but never tried eastern wok.

As i entered we were served a 3 course meal which was filling and satisfying.

They had fish, cuttlefish and prawns for mains while a chicken sweet corn soup was a starter  everyone said the biscuit pudding was a hit and i did like it too.

Overall craving for chinese in colombo?

I heard many good reviews about channas. Now if someone says a restaurant has good food at an affordable price i always think of a way to try it out.

I had a dinner out that day but decided to order in some food from channas before i left to dubai the next day. So i ordered naans, tandoori chicken,  paneer butter masala with kulfi for dessert.

The order arrived on time and the food was sent in excellent condition.

The tandoori chicken was a bit too small but taste was good. The naan was too big a worth the price. A naan is sufficient for 2 people.  The kulfi was the hit. It was sent in the exact same way they serve for dine-in customers, in that small clay pot neatly wrapped in a foil and it was frozen and cool amidst half an hour of it’s travel from wellawatte to colombo9.

I came home after my dinner and tried all the food though i was full and tasted the kulfi which melted in my mouth.  It’s was the best and original kulfi. Ive tried kulfi ice cream but I’ve never tried the actual kulfi.

This was so delicious.

There kulfis are a mist try and yes the naan too.

This was the last piece left after all at home ate. That green chutney was yummy.

Cioconut Lounge : An Arabian experience in lanka

Entering through a dim lit lawn and walking inside to a cosy and warm atmosphere with bright yellow lights and brown furniture to give a chocolate feeling or arabian atmosphere?

Yes the theme color is brown and cream somewhat like you ask your coffee with extra milk or a cuppacino

We were given the menu and as usual. My dad did the honors of ordering the meals.
Dad suggested I have a glass of iced coffee and I was still deciding on what to try. The foodie in me asked for something different and new. I always enjoyed trying out something new and unique.  The menu had morrocon tea and Arabic coffe with many other varieties of drinks and juices. I went for hot caramel.

Our started was a ceasar salad. I never thought myself fancying a bowl of salad but the ceasar salad at Cioconut did wonders. I wouldn’t mind going on a lowcarb diet if il be having ceasar salad for lunch.  I definitely wanna try my hands on a few ceasar salad recipes very soon.

Next to come was our main course a morrocan inspired chicken with herbed rice and slices of bread. The morrocan chicken was served on a plain brown tianjin fresh slices of  olives inside.  I loved the chicken dish you can eat the chicken by itself without a bread or rice. Well now I’ve got two new ideas to create something new for my husband.

our final spicy dish was a mixed grill platter. The chicken was delicious and I’ve started falling in love with grilled chicken all over again.

We dint go for a dessert as non of us felt the need but Cioconut provides a nice line up of sweet treats auch as desserts and cakes.
Cioconut is gonna be my “get back to” place in the future. I aure will recommend Cioconut for anyone looking for dinning options.
Am sure any tourist visiting srilanka whose looking to try something new would definitely wanna visit this place.

Soon after dinner I had a walk around admiring the sophisticated interior of Cioconut and found a shisha lounge at the back yards.
