Flying with kids

Explore with Mafaza

part 1 dxb-cmb

I have flown alone and also with a baby which not everyone can do unless you have the will power.flying with no adult partner is considered an adventure in my life. I enjoy flying with a partner or alone but the previous trips with my eldest son was a bit daunting as he was less occupied which I learnt recently.

Flying with a toddler and baby is not something easy as we are pushed to a lot of stress in considering the fellow passengers comfort.  Not everyone is child friendly and not all the stewards help you with kids. Some stewards make sure they dont cross us when they see you with a fussy kid. Trust me it did happen in a few planes.

So my journey was just 4 hours and 15 minutes always as it was from dubai to colombo and backwards. Even for an…

Rain

I remember the heavy rains back in Sri Lanka

With splashing mud, The little snails

the fresh breeze and the smell of green grass

The smell of grass during rain is really amazing

We used to cuddle up in a blanket and sleep till teatime

We enjoyed the hot cup of teas with a biscuit

while the raindrops filled the courtyards

Rainy days were spent indoors with books and pencils playing tic tac toe

We hardly watched the television and always played

The water from the downpour sometimes filled our lawn

We sometimes played in the puddles and splashed on water

Those are our memories of childhood

Which are merely blur yet cherished

Whenever it rains in Dubai

I think of those days back in Sri Lanka

With a blur smile and trying to live the Dubai winter

Sugar

Do you ever like to have 30 grams of sugar without adding it to anything? I  wouldn’t even wanna lick a few crystal sugars. I honestly hate sugar but I would never have my tea or coffee without sugar. It doesn’t matter if its sugar or stevia but I need my tea and coffee to be sweet. Let alone the chocolate bars as they dont count as sugar to me. I don’t love  chocolates but I enjoy them. It doesn’t need to be luxury chocolates but something with nuts and simple is all I crave. Simplicity is the best way to enjoy food.  I dono how a cappuccino with 24 karat gold might taste and I really don’t feel like spending money to eat or drink gold coated stuff. Go for the simple food that has a boost of flavour rather than something that will burst your wallet. I don’t write to say don’t try it. But if you have the luxury try it once but don’t try it the second or third time. Spend that money in charity to give something simple so the poor can be thankful.

We always enjoy simple stuff and those simple things in life is always a luxury to us.

Marathon

Life is not a a marathon

To run and see who reaches first

Life is all about compromising

To live Just and fullfill our duties

It’s not about how much one can do

It’s all about how well you can do

Sometime we are busy doing stuff

Neglecting the one who means a lot

While sometimes we are just lost

Wondering what shall we do

It’s all a matter of how we bare

Not how well we can fair

Float

I write this a journal.

Now everyday life is about learning new things. Ideas float in at random times but when you sit down to write something, all that you can think of is “what did I want to write”.

Its been a couple of months since i purchased my domain name and got this new blog and before it was 2 months old I learnt am pregnant again and many thoughts floated in my mind on how am gonna manage it. As a mummy of two it’s a huge responsibility. Managing kids is by itself a very big responsibility so finding time to write is impossible at times with routine of daily  chores, dinner and then at times kids fall sick  (its like every month he falls sick) and then I am floating in my sleep with work on my hands. Trust me it’s fun if you learn it slowly but the moment you try to master it in a rush, you fail. You loose patience and scream. Literally I did scream a few times but then I realised it’s all my part of daily life. Without it I would be bored and sad. So if you are a new mommy to be or gonna be the mummy of 2 or 3. Just float in this motherhood do not rush to swim at once if so you will drown yourself. It’s like learning to swim (not that I know how to swim, but I did learn a few lessons and only learnt how to float 😅 ) so take it slow and make a list of priority and that’s only the family meals, laundry (especially of your husband) , kids timetable and there cleanliness. The rest is if time permits (which includes taking an ice cream or a few cups of coffee)

The bloggers mum

It’s another year gone and we are all getting old. Every new year I remember one person in my life and that’s my mum. She was born on the 1st of January and we always talk about how the world celebrates the January first born peoples birthdays while they sit back and talk about it. I enjoy watching fireworks because it’s really amazing to see them and now I have given up on it too. Am I getting old??? (Wondering face)

Living in Dubai for the first few years I was very excited to explore Dubai and see new things which Dubai never fails to reveal every year. I have been wanting to watch the fireworks at Burj Khalifa during my earlier years but never had the chance to witness it live. At this moment I like to celebrate my blog with you as we start the year 2017 and hope to bring you loads of good content.

A bit about my mum.

People appreciated her food, her creativity in sewing and her neatness. I like her pasta and the prawn pizza. She made some good pastries. She always bugged me to learn and be better than her. She wanted us to bake bread at home which was a rare talent during those years. She wanted us to do everything at home.

I love to write and all these contents I’ve written is all because of my mum’s words. She kept chasing me to learn cooking and that’s what has led me to this niche “food blogging” which developed with my passion to write and while I struggled in which niche to start. Poetry was my initial love but food has given me the fame and publicity. Wish my mum was well and happy.

“Parents know the best ” my confession.

Always obey them even if it’s difficult.
